Presenting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

Last night, history was made. The whole world avidly watched as the future king of England married the love of his life. Prince William married his college sweetheart, Kate Middleton and the wedding festivities began at midnight Pacific Standard Time. Needless to say, I wanted to watch the “real thing” and not simply see the recap videos afterwards so that meant that I was up until the wee hours of the morning. I finally went to sleep around 5am but before the first official “kiss” on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as is tradition. But I got to see all the pomp and circumstance of the ceremony and even when Prince William made a cute remark to Kate and her father as they arrived to the altar “and this was supposed to be a small affair”. She looked AMAZING and he looked striking in his Scottish troupe regalia (although Mike liked Jay Leno’s reference to him looking like Capt Crunch :P). Although I was exhausted the next few days because of staying up, I’m so glad I did. So many big things happened within David’s first year of his life.

The NFL Draft …

With the lockout looming the draft kind of crept up on us. But we watched most of the first round and parts of those after in order to see what the Broncos and Niners did. The funniest thing … I was hoping that Elway and the Broncos DIDN’T pick a quarterback but hoped that the Niners did. HAHAHA … we really want to make sure that David gets to wear his Tim Tebow Bronco jersey this coming season and we’re not really looking forward to another Alex Smith season with the Niners. Got the cutest photo of David too … it almost looks like he’s praying … HAHAHAHAHA

High-Five!!

David is really on a roll. Learning how to clap … and now I’ve got him giving high-fives. Well … it’s more like a high-touch but he does it in response to “David, give me a high-five”. I’m sure one day he’ll truly slap our hands but until then, it’s a gentle press of his hand onto yours.

Yea!!! (clap clap clap)

Not only was it Easter Sunday … but Grandma Bunny taught David how to clap!! We’ve been trying to get him to do it for weeks now but something she did clicked for him and now he’s a clapping fool. It’s so cute … all you have to do is say “YEA” and he starts clapping. LOVE!!!

We were supposed to head to Tracy to be with the Trovato’s/Ormonde’s for the day but unfortunately, several of them got sick right before the holiday, so a quick change of plans and we headed to Concord to hang with the Zachary’s/Hammond’s. We love spending the holiday’s with this group of crazy kids and this time was no different. Of course as usual, there was a TON of food and yummy wine but what was even best … an Easter Egg Hunt for the kiddo’s!! David actually participated a bit in that we’d search and bend down/up for him to grab. He did such a great job. Came home with some change to add to his Giraffe, some stickers to play with when he gets older and other fun trinkets. The rest of the kids, Lily, Ruby and Chase were having so much fun finding the eggs. They were ALL over the small backyard and there were SO many.

Such a great day with friends … and a new “trick” … always something fun around the next bend with David in tow …

Pleasanton Farmer’s Market …

Today we met up with Jaime, Josh and Lucas Kaufman at the Pleasanton Farmer’s Market. Found some yummy’s like we always do and even stopped for some ice cream. As we wandered back to our car we stopped at a cute little park and took some photos. The last few days have been wonderful since Mike has been so busy with work and was able to take some time off. He’s been missing David a lot lately so it was definitely needed. And to boot … it’s Easter Weekend!!

Easter Bunny … check

Mike had the day off so we headed over to the mall to get David’s picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Fortunately we waited in line for a few minutes so David got to see other kids sitting with the Easter Bunny and see them all be happy and loving it (all pre-school and kindergarten aged kids). So when we put him on the Easter Bunny’s lap he wasn’t scared … but he also wasn’t so sure either. We didn’t get a smile out of him until the end (when of course they only take like 4 pictures) but at least he wasn’t crying. HAHAHA!!! But the photo we got is still too cute regardless …

Finally heading to Redding, CA with David …

The Price grandparents came into town to see David and Grandpa Price’s family in Redding. It’s a quick trip for us but it’s so necessary. I haven’t seen my aunt and uncle in over a year and this was the first time they got to meet David!! We also got to meet Avery too … Packer and Vanessa’s son. He’s such a cutie and both David and Avery were trying to figure each other out. We got to see Amanda, Elizabeth, Aunt Judy and even Aunt Kathy and Grandma Price (Great Grandma Price to David). She was very happy to meet her newest great grandchild as well as a chance to spend time with my dad. The boys, Packer and Mike, went down to the lake to fish for a few minutes while the rest of the girls went to the park with the little ones to swing and go down the slide. It was nice just to spend a moment with the family and show off David.

Ready for baseball season …

David and I are ready for baseball season … even though the beginning is slow moving and whoever is in first now doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re in the lead at the end of the show. But it means that summer is just around the corner and in this house … we’re ready. But in the meantime … there is still debate about who we’re rooting for. Mama is still a mixed nut … rooting for the Giants AND the Rockies. Daddy isn’t too sure since he doesn’t even know who is playing on his A’s. So needless to say … David has Giants and Rockies gear. Bring it on … we can’t wait to go to a game!!

Crawling for the first time …

I had to leave David with Grandma and Grandpa Civello for the day and well wouldn’t you know … he crawled. They enticed him with the cordless phone but it was so stinkin’ cute. He’s army crawling as well and that’s getting LOTS faster. But now he’s actually on all fours and rocking and rolling … err crawling. You can see him concentrate on it so hard … it’s so cute!! Also … he sticks his one foot flat on the floor, then drags the other knee instead of crawling on his knees. You can see him pause and go to lift to stand up. Wonder if he’ll walk soon … he LOVES standing and has forever. Only time will tell. But in the meantime; we’re so proud ……
