Caleb's 1 yr stats

Seriously ... a year has already passed by? Oh my it truly has and it's just crazy how fast it truly went. He has 7 ... count them 7 teeth!!! 4 up top and 3 below. His hair is still blonde although has not quite gotten as light as David's. He's suddenly starting to talk a bit more too. Actually hearing him repeating consonants of our words. Even starting things like 'nana' for banana and even 'nigh nigh' for bedtime. I'm only mama or maaaaa if he really wants something otherwise, much like David, he calls me dada also. LOL ...

He wants so badly to use a spoon and fork and tries to pick up his food with them. Aside from stabbing a piece or two randomly it's not usually fruitful but he sure tries. I've given him a few pieces stuck to his fork and a handful of the times he has gotten them in his mouth. Dr. Yu was VERY impressed with his desire to eat with a spoon/fork. He handles his sippy cup very well and although picky, he's also still a fairly good eater. He still won't eat cheese. Can't possibly be my child. :P But eats pasta so I guess that makes up for it. He'll eat asparagus, broccoli and green beans so that makes us both happy. And my favorite was that he LOVES eating apples whole and Dr. Yu and all the nurses had a blast watching him.

Height: 30.5" (75%)
Weight: 20lbs 2oz (25%)

He's staying strong at tall but not quite as tall as David. But just as skinny. LOL ... sorry kid ... I think that's the Price genes in ya. Keeping you a smidge short. Time will tell for both boys so who knows.

Caleb is cruising and sooooooo close to walking on his own. And when he crawls he is SO fast. Especially if it's traipsing behind David to play or going after daddy. He snuggles with his bear off and on and definitely has learned that it's time to sleep when we wrap his blanket around his shoulders. He occasionally takes a pacifier but not always. It's so weird. Most times it's only before bed or just after but he doesn't always use it before he passes out.

Both boys do extremely well while we're out running. Caleb is more relaxed than David. He likes the sites and sounds but only gets antsy if we go for too long of a run and then head to the car for errands where he doesn't get much room/time to wiggle. Otherwise, he's still just a little angel.

Soon we'll get a chance to party and celebrate Caleb while Grandma and Grandpa Price are in town to celebrate Grandma's 25yrs with Wells Fargo. Happy Birthday Caleb ... we love you endlessly ...

Labor Day in Colo ... per the norm

Just like we do every year, we packed ourselves up and headed out to Colorado for the CU vs CSU football game. It's our tradition. I think if it ever comes to end, Mike and I won't be quite sure what to do with ourselves. :)

This came as Caleb's 3rd trip. He's starting to settle into traveling whereas as David ... David is a seasoned pro. Even being potty trained ... he's been there; done that when it comes to traveling via plane. Seriously, going into the airport, through security and onto the plane he's an absolute gem. He knows that when the seatbelt sign is on he MUST have his seatbelt on. He knows that he can't pull on the tray table because it can be bothersome to the person in front of him. He knows that he can usually get apple juice too. He watches the Kindle, plays his LeapPad and even sometimes colors. He's well traveled. And LOVES having his own stuff in his backpack.

Caleb on the other hand is only 9mos old and still figuring out this whole thing called traveling. But just like his brother, he'll figure it out. Soon we'll be doing our next big trip, heading out to New York for Blake and Jared's wedding ... that'll be a true test for Caleb. It's a LONG trip and he'll be even more mobile come Oct 11th. It could get interesting. :P

Colorado was great as usual. Only this time Mike and I got to see the Bronco's play in warm weather AND even got to carry the American flag out onto the field during pregame festivities. We were even on the Jumbotron!! Then the Buffs beat the Rams in a beautiful fashion and we are so excited for the future of this team with new coach MacIntyre. We got to see some friends and enjoy the family. As well as a little thunder, lightening, and rain. Not much for David to puddle jump but enough for him to enjoy his new rain boots.

New carseats ... they're getting too big!!

Today we got David's new convertible booster seat in the mail. I realized the other day when I put Caleb in his car seat that he was very near the 1inch threshold. I know the limit on the car seat manual says 32" but at 29" he is as close as I'd like. With that, Caleb is being moved to the Britax Marathon 70 and David is moving to the Britax Pioneer 70 Harness-2-Booster car seat. This will grow with him till he will need a backless booster as his last step before being tall and mature enough to sit in the seat and just use the lap-shoulder seat belt. AHHHHH ...

Now keep in mind ... part of me is scared about this too. Afterall, a 'promotion' in car seats is actually a demotion in safety. Technically, we're ALL safest riding rear-facing in  an infant car seat, in the middle of the car. But that just isn't feasible for driving. :P But Caleb is still rear-facing of course. It is the law that he be rear-facing until 20lbs or 1 year and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends being rear-facing for the first 2 years minimum. We successfully had David rear-facing until 18 months. I'm going to try to get closer to that 2 year mark with Caleb though. It's safest. Besides, if he and David continue to be great buddies, I think it'll be easier since they'll be facing each other for longer. Once they're side by side and forward-facing, it'll be harder. :P

We leave in 2 days for Colorado for our annual Labor Day weekend trip and we're debating which car seats to take with us. Better figure it out ... yea for COLORADO IN THE FALL!!!

Happy 5th Wedding Anniversary

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this year and we just cannot believe that it's already been 5 years of marriage, let alone 12 years in total!! We got to celebrate by going out for a date where we did not have to say "don't do that, stop touching your brother, sit on your bottom please, please finish your dinner, what are you doing?!" Instead, Mike and I chatted about a lot of different topics and just thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful Livermore evening. We went to a tapas restaurant that we've been wanting to try since it opened over a year ago. It was delicious and we even we honored with a glass of Prosecco and dessert by the owner for celebrating our anniversary, as well as being accommodating when they had a party that grew and we gave up our table to help.

Then we headed to another wine bar called Pour House where they had a live band playing great music and continued to just simply ... talk. It was such a great evening. We took a stroll to check out another restaurant we want to try as a family and were amazed at it and can't wait to go back with the boys as well as on our own to enjoy the live band they have on weekend nights. It was great to have an adult night out and only worry about us for a moment.

Here's to many more years of adventures!!!!!

Caleb ... 9 Month Stats

Has it really been 9 months already?! I cannot believe the summer is almost over let alone Caleb is three-quarters done with his first year. The time is flying by faster and faster and I am not so thrilled with that. I'll admit my current parent fail: I have YET to start ANYTHING for Caleb's baby book. So sad. Not a single photo has been printed. Not a single page laid out. In fact, the plastic wrap is still securely in place around the book. Sorry Caleb ... one day if you have children ... you'll understand how little time there is with one child let alone two. But I promise, before you graduate from high school, I'll have it done for you. :)

Height: 29" (75%)
Weight: 18lbs 12.5oz (25%)

At this age, David and Caleb were the same height but David was just under a pound heavier. Both are tall, skinny bean poles like their daddy. :) Thank goodness too.

Caleb is no longer ONLY army crawling. He's doing the traditional crawl too although you can tell when it hurts his knees on the hardwood because he'll either army crawl or stick his one leg up like David did. He is loving whole, soft foods more and more. He tastes everything first just like David did. He'll put it in his mouth, spit it out, put it in his mouth and spit it out. Usually the third time it stays in and he eats it. :P He LOVES hummus. He likes cracker pretzels. Avocado. Strawberries. Blueberries. Green beans. Chicken. Turkey. And yogurt melts. He has not taken a liking to cheese. So odd since that's one thing that David has LOVED the entire time. :)

He's babbling indiscriminately and squawking at us when he wants things. Case in point, he will begin yelling at you if he wants to feed himself and not have you feed him. LOL ... showing his independence early on I guess. He loves standing and pulls himself to stand quite easily. He's been crawling up the stairs for a few weeks now (since Aug 8th). In fact, he tends to head to the stairs as if to take himself to bed when it's past naptime or bedtime.

All in all he's growing quickly and just like he's supposed to. He has the best smile and his laugh is contagious and easy to get out of him. He's a flirt and absolutely ADORES his big brother, David. We can tell that as Caleb becomes more mobile and more active that David is loving this time even more. Because he's able to actually actively play with Caleb. Can't wait to see what the future holds for these two buddies ... I just hope and pray that they remain best of friends throughout their life even if they have different personalities. Because right now, I feel complete knowing my children are friends too.

And we have 3 teeth ...

... with one on the way. This morning, a very cranky and almost inconsolable Caleb provoked me to check his mouth. And there they were ... two pearly whites sticking out of the top of his mouth. His front teeth will take a while to fully descend but in the meantime will cause some pain and heartache. But it's just more proof that he's growing up WAY too fast.

Additionally ... he's beginning to get the idea of cruising. Which means I need to bring up another standing toy for him from the garage. :)

It's been a busy few weeks for Caleb

In just a matter of weeks, Caleb is now army crawling (devilishly fast too), able to get to a sitting position from his back/tummy, clapping and pulling to a stand. He's rocking on all 4's and even starting to do 'downward dog'. It's amazing how big he's getting and how quickly he's moving on and up in life. He wants so badly to keep up with David and I know David will rule the day when Caleb can walk with him. And David is loving that Caleb is eating solids now and even starting to eat puffs. Because David can now be involved in feeding Caleb. He's proving to love drinking water and can do so from a multitude of cups just like David could.

Although Caleb is not 'crawling' in the standard tradition ... he's crawling. He's on the move and is VERY fast. He cruises around the floor. One minute stealing toys in the living room then crawling around the corner and into the kitchen. He ventures under the dining room table without fear and rarely gets stuck. He takes off into the laundry room if I've been in there doing laundry. Mainly, he just wants to check everything out.

He pulls himself up to his knees in his crib. I know he can get all the way to his feet but I think that it's enough for him to sufficiently see over and check everything out that he doesn't go any further. We definitely need to lower the crib with that in mind. He pulls himself to standing on David's red chair in the living room and usually squawks out as if to say 'look at me!'.

We can tell he's teething and after some investigating I've realized that his top two front teeth are trying to make their first appearance below the gum line. No wonder he's been a little wonky lately. Poor guy. And his second bottom front tooth is coming too but the top teeth look closer to coming through. Ouch ...

Today we tried out yogurt melts just for sake of trying them out. He hasn't been wild about puffs and wagon wheels. Maybe they're too soggy? I'm not sure. But today he LOVED the melts. He even actually CHEWED them and not just let them dissolve in his mouth like he does with the puffs and wagon wheels. I gave him a piece of soft pasta the other night and he seemed to enjoy playing with it and trying to eat it. Guess I'll have to try that, some steamed veggies and fruit pieces too. He's getting so big, so fast! Ack!!!

You make my heart melt ...

I took these completely and udderly adorable photos of the boys yesterday and afterwards I told David that they 'make my heart melt'. David's reply was 'no mama! I don't want to hurt you!'. Oh so sweet ...

David is getting better about taking photos for me but mostly ONLY if I'm taking photos of Caleb. Otherwise he has no interest and runs away. What's even better is that I'm able to get Caleb to look at me AND smile. That's an amazing feat if I say so. Most little ones are so hard to photograph actually looking at the camera.

Earlier in the afternoon Caleb was sitting up and playing and then laid back to continue playing. And before I knew it ... he had snuggled down, cuddled his bear lovie and passed out. While rubbing his tummy. That meant he needed a little more Benadryl ... poor guy has a rash that is itching. Still trying to determine exactly what KIND of rash but I think it's a heat rash and NOT a food allergy like we originally thought. It's getting better as it's not read and bumpy anymore but it's still patchy and obviously itchy. Poor guy. I truly feel like a bad mom ... David promises I'm not. I asked if I was a good mommy and he replied 'yes, yes!!' Which in his world is better than yes. I asked if he was sure and he said 'yes, yes mama. I love you.' Oh that makes me feel much better.

Role reversal with David ...

Last night at bedtime, David and I had role reversal. He didn't want to dress himself (we've been working on that) and I told him that big boys dress themselves and he's a big boy. He proceeded to tell me no, he doesn't want to be a big boy so you do it for me mama. I then reminded him that he'll be 3 in less than 2wks and that when he turns 3 that he needs to dress himself.

"No mama. I don't wanna be 3 in June. I wanna be 2 so do my clothes"
"Well honey we get older and not younger"
"Then I want to be like mommy and turn 33 in Oct (he thinks daddy and I are the same age)"
"Ok honey but that still means that you have to dress yourself. Mommy dresses herself"
"I want to be mommy and you be David"
"Ok ... so help David get ready for bed"

It proceeded as such. He told me that I had to put my pajamas on, I told him I didn't want to. But you have to mama. Let's go get your pajamas. Then he told me I had to brush my teeth. I told him I didn't want to. He told me I had to brush my teeth to get rid of all the sugar bugs. I again protested and he just stared at me and said "you have to mama, now let's brush your teeth". Then I told him that I wanted to sleep in mommy and daddy's bed like he does every night. He told me, no mama, you have to sleep in David's bed since you're David. LOL ...
The whole event was hilarious but also fun to see how he saw his bedtime routine and to know that he actually knows what the routine is. Then we got in bed and I was tending to Caleb, he actually waited patiently and with his eyes closed for me to take care of Caleb before I snuggled with him. It was so sweet.

Something fun in the mail ...

Today, we received Mike's anniversary gift from PwC in the mail ... a Wii!! We cannot wait to get it all set up to be able to play. It's been a while since we last played with our Nintendo so we'll have to locate that and set it up too. We thought it'd be a fun gaming system for the boys while they're younger, especially since a lot of their games require action on behalf of the player and not just your fingers.

**UPDATE**
After getting it all set up we played Wii bowling. We weren't sure if we'd be able to get David to understand hitting the buttons for release, etc. and it took all of a matter of minutes to figure it out! He's so smart. In fact, his first game of Wii bowling, he bowled a 89 all by himself then his second game he almost bowled a Turkey at scored 127!! He's really starting to understand. Even trying out the other games like golfing, Frisbee golf, cycling, etc. This should fun for family nights for years to come. :)

David Wii Bowling ... Going for a Turkey!!

Old toys become new again

Today we brought out the piano ... and it's a hit with both boys. David is having fun rediscovering it and Caleb is having a blast realizing that HE's making noise. He seems rather comfortable in it and turning, twisting and sliding already!! So much more exciting things to come my dear ...

Another day to remember ... but not in a happy way ...

Today ... someone or a group of people chose to set off bombs at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. One of the most well known races internationally. Today is also a holiday in Boston known as "Patriots Day" therefore many are not working as this is also traditionally a LARGE spectator event. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those whose family/friends have either lost their lives or are injured. So far the number stands at 3 deaths and 176 injured with no clue as to who did this and why.

I hope soon we figure it out ... most times groups are so eager to show how powerful they are ... but given that no one has come forward I wonder if its one individual. But still ... why ... I hope we have more information soon.

Caleb's Baptism

This past Monday we celebrated the baptism of Caleb. And we were lucky enough to have Rev. David Beronio preside over the ceremony. And Grandma and Grandpa Price were in town for the festivities too! This of course too meant that we went to Lake Tahoe!! The cool spring weather and a little bit of snow made for a great trip but nothing too crazy. It was a quick weekend trip but we got to enjoy the sites, sounds and tastes. Including a chilly romp on the Edgewood golf course.

As usual, Rev. Beronio did a GREAT job even though we were a smidge unprepared. But it was a great memory nonetheless. Including a yummy cake from Cork & More to celebrate at the Beacon at Camp Richardson. Although it did start out a little tiring ... afteral ... we did run a half marathon in San Francisco the morning we drove up to Tahoe. Crazy, we know. But you do what you gotta do because you love your children. :)

We also made sure to go have a snow ball fight at the bottom of Heavenly at the close of the skiing day. We definitely stayed out there too long but we couldn't ignore the fun we were having in the snow. Making snow men, throwing snow balls at each other.

And we're rolling ...

He did it ... Caleb rolled over tonight for a full house. Aunt Kathy is in town from Maryland and the boys and I spent the day with her, Paige and Debbie and Gary out at the Livermore wineries. It was such a beautiful spring day here in the Bay Area. and we moved the party from the wineries to our home. Letting Caleb get some much needed space to wiggle he snuggled up to his new Easter Chick stuffed animal. And I credit the chick for helping him roll over. He was holding it up and out in front when he started to roll and it helped get his arm out of the way to make the whole roll. Kathy, Paige and Grandma Civello were present to see it. Even David cheered him on. It was so cute.

Only 4 months in and we have LOTS more to go through. So many exciting things happen the first year of your life ... it's great that we're here to note it and take photos to show them when they're older. :)

Cloth Diapering Here We Come

Well ... it's official. I decided to get off the pot so to speak. LOL ... and I got our cloth diapers ordered for Caleb. Once they get here and get them all washed we can start our new journey. Mike is a little hesitant but he knows that a bulk of the work will fall onto me. The extra washing, stuffing etc. But I'm looking forward to trying it out and we'll have about 20days to truly check it out and see how we'll do. After all we'll be doing wash every 2-3days so it should give us a decent number of washes to check it out. I know that we have a road bump ahead in laundering. I've read that it's hard to get the settings just right for front loading washers so I'll have to finagle that.

Some really fun prints though ... can't wait to start the new adventure!!!

Small food victories when we can get them

We finally got David to eat pizza breadsticks. We're getting closer to a preschooler who likes pizza!! I'm determined to get him to eat more foods through the summer. I'm even more determined to make sure that Caleb is not only willing to eat everything from the start like David was, but to KEEP it that way. I flubbed up some where with David and now I have a picky kid but we're working on it.

David-isms ...

David's latest thing is 'sure mama' when you ask him if wants something and he does. Or if Mike and I 'beg and plead' in a cute manner to do something else then he says 'don't cry mama/dada'.

And just now ... as I'm peeling/cutting/etc carrots and celery he told me as he stole a celery stalk ... that he was going to eat it so he could get BIG-GER like daddy. LOL

Works for me ... :)

Soccer here we come!!

We got David all signed up for Parent & Me Soccer in a few weeks!! He's really excited to start soccer and Mike and I can't wait for his first 'practice'. Uncle Donny is proud too and can't wait to see him next to have a little one on one. This class goes from April-June and will be a great start into 'sports' for David. We're not so patiently waiting for Tee Ball sign ups for the fall. LOL!! And also thinking about swimming this summer too after soccer. Eek ... sports extravaganza for the Civello family is starting early!!

Spanish is out ...

Soccer is in ... sadly David's Spanish had to be canceled because they lost their location for the class and couldn't come up with a new locale. So refund received and we're moving outdoors with soccer. Can't wait!!! But class doesn't start until April 13th. Check in for a new post later!!!!

Ready, set, potty train!!!

Somehow, one day, we decided that it was time for David to be potty trained. Maybe it's because I felt like I was changing out the Diaper Genie every day. LOL ... he's over 2.5yrs old and we know he's ready. So one morning, I woke up and decided, today's the day. That day was Friday February 15th, 2013 and he hasn't worn a diaper since. I would call him 95% potty trained. We have now had a few days where we have 1 small accident each day and that's it. We're pretty good at asking or reminding him to tell us he needs to go when we're out and about as well as getting him to try to go when we're about to head to the park, or get in the car. At home, he's pretty great at just going on his own without us prompting him. We still take several changes of clothes with us and monitor his actions when it's been a while since his last potty break or didn't go that much. But honestly ... NOT changing his diaper has been wonderful!!!

We're so proud of him and he is too. He loves running out of the bathroom exclaiming "I DID IT!!!". The biggest catalyst aside from being a 'big boy' was that he LOVES LOVES LOVES his preschool class and asks every day if he can go. So I told him that in order to go every day he has to be a big boy and use the potty. That's really helped. I made a simple chart for him to put up stickers for every time he went potty. And loves seeing all the stickers up there and proudly shows them off. He's already getting to a point after 9 days that he doesn't seem to care much about stickers up anymore.

Hopefully soon we can say he's 100% trained ... regardless, I'm proud of David and ourselves. Potty training isn't easy on anyone but it doesn't have to be unbearable.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Today in David's class we celebrated Valentine's Day ... which just so happened to fall on the actual day. We had a pancake breakfast in our pajama's. It was a blast. We exchanged our Valentine's and enjoyed a beautiful day outside. I think David's favorite Valentine was the mylar balloon he got from Sofia. Mrs. Valerie suggested non-food items with our Valentine's to ensure no issues with allergies. We did individual stamps (2 per). I bought 50 total and David (and Caleb) will get to enjoy the rest. :)

Getting to be a big kid ...

The last few days David has been putting on his shoes. He has a pair of light up, velcro ,Lightning McQueen sneakers that he LOVES. And he can put them on himself. This morning though, he put one of his socks on by himself ... and correctly at that! He did once again later this afternoon as well. Now just to get a little but more on the potty training wagon and I"ll be a happier mommy. :) I told him that if he wants to go to school every day that he has to pee and poop in the potty. He's not afraid to pee in the potty but we've only gotten one poop in a long while. I think we may make this the last batch of diapers we use ... tell him they don't make them anymore ... or something. He's ready ... he just needs the bump to do it ... only time will tell ...

School time ...

Today's craft was to make Valentines Day placemats. David told me what hearts he wanted where and I glued them. He's still not totally sure about paste/glue so sometimes he puts it on and sometimes I do. Oh and we made butterflies from hearts too!! Can't wait to bring home the placemat. Mrs. Valerie is going to laminate them so we'll be able to save it. :-) There will be a Valentines Day party complete with a pancake and pajamas party. And fortunately enough, it actually will happen on Valentines Day. Guess we better get some Valentines and goodies (no food).

David is loving his class and does so well. Better than he does at home!! He listens intently and follows directions. He really seems to like Mrs. Valerie and one little girl named Rylee in particular. And I find him playing with Tony well and another little boy Liam tends to follow David sheepishly. So fun to watch him interact and grow each week. And this week all of a sudden he has his colors down 90% of the time. The only color he seems to have a hard time with is Purple. He'll either call it Blue or Pink which let's be honest, isn't that far off. :) He counts to 20 but at the end he says "14,16, 19, 20". LOL!!!

Spanish starts NEXT weekend!!!

Loving some play time

Got the play mat out for Caleb today and he's been LOVING it. Watching the lights flash above and listening to the different songs that play. Even batting at the spinning wheel and gurgling with glee as it goes around and loving the crunching sound the little leaf makes.

And of course David can't leave his side. He has to be involved and in the midst of whatever Caleb is doing. So that does mean snuggling right next to him and showing him to play with everything on the mat. As well as making sure the music or sounds are always playing.

Hopefully we'll get the swing set up this week some time and let Caleb enjoy that as well. Especially since it has the mirror on it and the mobile that goes around. Such great stimulation. David LOVED the swing. I hope Caleb does as well.

Just a little giggle ...

Caleb is getting bigger every day and amazing us daily as well. Take today for example ... he laughed. Honest to god giggle. Not just for me, but for Mike as well in the evening and it made both of our hearts not only melt but swell with love. For me, it was in the morning while changing him. I started singing "Wheels on the Bus" with him and David and doing all the arm motions we learned in David's class last week. The second time through it all he started actually giggling and it was AWESOME. For Mike, it was simply just playing and goofing around together and I got to witness it as well. It's truly wonderful to experience all of these 'firsts' again.

I just can't wait to get it on video ...

School time ...

We registered David for a 'mommy and me preschool' class through the Livermore Rec and started it yesterday. I was looking forward to starting this class and afterwards I realized it was warrented. I'm so happy that Jaime suggested the class to us. It's every week on Thursdays for 2 hours and gives David an introduction to a classroom situation. The day started with free play for 30 minutes. Then we got together for group time where we introduced ourselves and sang and danced. Then it was off to craft time where we made Snowmen and painted with 'ice' paint (colored water frozen in ice cube trays with sticks in them). It was really fun and I can't wait to bring home his artwork and photograph it to share with the family. David told me how to make his snowman and he had fun watching the ice paint glide across the page. After craft time it was some more free play time while all the children finished their crafts. Then it was time to clean up and get ready for snack time. Then we cleaned up and headed outside to enjoy the beautiful morning sun and play on the playground. David really seemed to have a blast and followed instruction from myself and the instructor (Ms. Valerie) really well. Oddly enough, Ms. Valerie is from Littleton! She went to Littleton High and her husband went to Arapohoe High. LOL!!

David loved 'school' and can't wait to go again. He'll have this class til the end of March and I think we'll likely pick it up through May if it continues like this. Next up ... SPANISH!! His Spanish classes with Lango Kids start up again on Saturday February 9th. He's excited about that too as we are too. I learn a lot and David and Mike get to spend a great time together.

New Year's Eve in Colorado ... the tradition

As always ... we headed to Colorado to see grandma and grandpa Price for New Year's Eve and in hopes of a little fun and snow.

We started off with a little event for friends to come see Caleb and hang out and catch up. It was great to see everyone who came. And feeling overly blessed by all the gifts we received and certainly didn't expect. Lots of friends from the past and even some of grandma and grandpa's friends came too. Just a little gathering of people talking, eating an snuggling up with Caleb. Not even 2 months old and stealing hearts all over Denver.

We usually stay very busy when we visit Colorado regardless of the time of year but this time around we tried to keep it a little lower key because of Caleb being so new and me still recovering and adjusting to being a mommy of two. David is still showing how much in love he is with Caleb and it's awe inspiring. Truly.

T
his time around we got to go to a Broncos game at the very end of the season and man was it cold. But it was a blast. Jose endured me pumping in the back seat of his car but I think he was happy to have us both going to the game so he'd suffice with the noises every machine makes. LOL!! Fortunately also being that it was cold, we did not have to worry as much about the cooler keeping the milk cold before getting home.

We spent a cozy night in for New Years Eve after running the Resolution 5K in Washington Park. This was NOT an easy run for me since I was still only 6 weeks post partum and my first hefty walk let alone RUN. I was hurting after the 2nd mile and sore for several days there after. But so happy we did it ... it's a great way to end the year. Then we headed home for dinner and Brianne and Cade came to enjoy movies and midnight with us before heading home to their own beds.

As usual we enjoyed our trip and they never seem long enough to do all the things we'd hope to or see the people we want to. But getting home during the holidays is always a true blessing.
