Today I put together David's new play station and he LOVED it ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-SFovJHyGc.
Then we headed to the park here in our community to meet up with Nicole and Kaitlyn. We wanted David to swing on the swings for the first time. I set him in, he looked around like "now what?". Then I pushed him and he began to swing. The BIGGEST smile spread all over his face and he LOVED it ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHh9pBe92VE

Oh boy ... first time at the Lafayette Reservoir
I had been wanting to go walk around the Lafayette Reservoir for a while now but didn't feel I was ready for the challenge. It may only by 2.7miles but it's NOT easy. Mike and I went for it this past weekend ... and not just once. We went around TWICE!!! David slept through most of the first lap but seemed to enjoy the second one. Too bad the weather wasn't cooperating too well. Regardless ... I can't wait to do it again!!!

7 Months old
David is growing SO fast it's incredible. He had an appointment for a flu booster and of course got checked out and weighed. He's at 18lbs 4oz and doing well. He's gained a pound in the last month which the nurse and doctor both said was great! Dr. Yu looked him over and said he's progressing really well and not to worry that he's not crawling yet. But I told him that he LOVES sitting up and playing and is getting more and more active. And that I can put him on all fours and now he rocks a little bit while in that position. And of course ... he still stands so well.
Dr. Yu said we can try meats at 8months and we'll see him again at 9months. I can't believe time is flying by so fast. We're already starting to discuss his 1st birthday party!!!

Gimme the spoon!!!
David is now trying to grab the spoon from us while we're feeding him. That's a GREAT sign but it makes feeding him incredibly difficult.

Working on self-feeding!!!
David has these moments when he demands to feed himself. It's hilariour really. Sometimes he'll bat your hand away and then try to take the food. Other times he'll spit out whatever finger food you gave him and try again on his own.

I love driving my "car"!!!
David LOVES the toy that Santa brought him. The best part ... when he goes to Lucas' house to play he can play with the "same" too!!!

Wagon Wheels ... THANKS Lucas!!!
David's friend Lucas LOVED his Wagon Wheels so he decided to share. And guess what ... so does David!!!
David has been practicing "chewing" while he's eating his puree's and I've been wanting to try and give him some finger foods so that he can practicing picking up food as well as getting him ready for chunkier foods, etc. My friend Jaime had a few left over and sent me home with them. We went ahead and tried them out and David of course LOVED them.
Thanks for the suggestion Jaime ... we'll have to pick some up for David to enjoy once in a while as a snack!!!

Pasta ... mmmmmm
I went to dinner with my friends Laura and Dana since Mike was out of town on business and of course I ordered a pasta dish from the Cheesecake Factory that I can't even finish in 2 sittings. So the next day I ate some of the leftovers for lunch. I was starving when it was time to feed David his lunch so I ate at the same time. Guess what ... he wanted what I had. So I broke off little pieces of the pasta and let him have a few bites. He LOVED it!!!
On that same day but later on I was making some of David's yummy purees and even a new one; carrotts. When I decided, on the urging of a friend, to leave a quarter piece of the steamed pear aside for David to explore in his teething feeding. He LOVED it too. In fact he cried when I took it away to put another piece in for him. As soon as I gave it back he "mmm-mmmm-mmm"'d his way through it.
Then at dinner I cut up the last few bits to give to him. He's been trying to "grab" the spilled bits of puree on his place mat so I thought, lets see if he'll grab the pear. Sure enough, he grabbed for it but doesn't the dexterity yet to actually grab each piece. And they're a little wet too so that made it hard as well.
Our little man sure is growing up so fast I can't believe it!! He's getting more and more demanding for our food so now it's time to start making our meals a bit more "David" friendly I think. And he's sitting up on his own longer and longer too. So much easier for him to actually play with his toys. :)

New Tooth and first time for crackers!!
David has had yet another tooth working on breaking through ... and yesterday ... it broke through the gumline. His upper left tooth that is ... he's been more fussy than ever (still an angel though). I feel bad ... it's exhausting him. But glad they're coming in so he can eat more and more yummy stuff!!!
What's even more fun ... David ate his first wheat cracker. While shopping at Costco with Jaime and Lucas. He really seemed to enjoy gobbling it up so I need to make sure to pick some up for him to snack on once in a while. :)

Last part of the holidays in Colorado
We went on David’s second trip to Colorado to enjoy the last of the holidays with hopefully a bit of snow. Well we got some … it wasn’t much but it was nice to be in it. This was my first New Year’s in Colorado since 2000 so it was great to be back. My job always kept me from being able to “go home” for the holidays and it was definitely fun to be able to take David to Grandma and Grandpa Price’s during the holidays. We flew in nice and early and got to relax the rest of the day. Later in the afternoon we all opened presents so it was like “Take 2” of Christmas for David. And boy did he sure score!! Lots of clothes, some toys and even a scratch-n-sniff book from Uncle Donny and Aunt Jamie.
We went to Hudson Gardens for “Hudson Holidays” where they have the gardens all lit up!! It sure was a lot of fun since they used such a large amount of the gardens for the event. They even had carriage rides through the gardens so we got to see even more. We spent 2hrs there and were all bundled up. Fortunately it wasn’t too cold so we were really able to enjoy it. And David just stared in amazement at everything and didn’t even make a peep once!
We got to see our good friend Jose before he went home to Puerto Rico for the New Year. We got to see Krista and Geoff and Marisa for coffee. Shalisa tried to kill my mom and I at her new Pure Barre Studio in Boulder. We were supposed to see a few others but we managed to keep a little too busy.
My folks took us to “the” French restaurant in Denver, Le Central. I don’t think I’ve eaten there since high school but it was great as usual. We of course had Noodles & Co, Illegal Pete’s and Old Chicago’s. We ate at Fox and Hound but didn’t get Good Times in. It’s always important (silly we know) to get in a few of faves that we can’t have in Cali.
The trip was great and we got to spend more time with Donny and Jamie this trip than in September so that was GREAT!! Grandma and Grandpa even got David a play mat that he really seems to love so of course they can’t wait until he can come back and play some more.
Not sure when we’ll get back but it sure was a great trip … and Mike got to make a "David" sized Snowman!!!!
PS … there were LOTS of families flying at the same time and we proudly state that we were NOT that family with the screaming baby/kid. Although the one on the return flight woke David up from his nap. Poor bubby.

Sitting up ... almost
While in Colorado David really started to sit up on his own without our help ... pretty soon I'll be able to "plop" him down and not worry so much that he'll topple over!!!!

Happy New Year!!!
We spent the evening with Christy, Doc and Benjamin, Donny and Jamie and my folks. Mike made jumbalaya for everyone and we got to see the Williams' new house in Castle Rock. Then we headed home to enjoy the count down and munchies at my parent's place. We watched the ball drop and David woke up literally with 10 minutes to spare so I got to kiss Mike AND David for the New Year!! Then as a family (with David asleep) we watched Easy A. Headed to bed pretty late but it was great to spend the night doing what we did when I was growing up.
From the new Civello's to your family ... we hope 2011 is a GRRRRREAT year!!!! :)
