We went on David’s second trip to Colorado to enjoy the last of the holidays with hopefully a bit of snow. Well we got some … it wasn’t much but it was nice to be in it. This was my first New Year’s in Colorado since 2000 so it was great to be back. My job always kept me from being able to “go home” for the holidays and it was definitely fun to be able to take David to Grandma and Grandpa Price’s during the holidays. We flew in nice and early and got to relax the rest of the day. Later in the afternoon we all opened presents so it was like “Take 2” of Christmas for David. And boy did he sure score!! Lots of clothes, some toys and even a scratch-n-sniff book from Uncle Donny and Aunt Jamie.
We went to Hudson Gardens for “Hudson Holidays” where they have the gardens all lit up!! It sure was a lot of fun since they used such a large amount of the gardens for the event. They even had carriage rides through the gardens so we got to see even more. We spent 2hrs there and were all bundled up. Fortunately it wasn’t too cold so we were really able to enjoy it. And David just stared in amazement at everything and didn’t even make a peep once!
We got to see our good friend Jose before he went home to Puerto Rico for the New Year. We got to see Krista and Geoff and Marisa for coffee. Shalisa tried to kill my mom and I at her new Pure Barre Studio in Boulder. We were supposed to see a few others but we managed to keep a little too busy.
My folks took us to “the” French restaurant in Denver, Le Central. I don’t think I’ve eaten there since high school but it was great as usual. We of course had Noodles & Co, Illegal Pete’s and Old Chicago’s. We ate at Fox and Hound but didn’t get Good Times in. It’s always important (silly we know) to get in a few of faves that we can’t have in Cali.
The trip was great and we got to spend more time with Donny and Jamie this trip than in September so that was GREAT!! Grandma and Grandpa even got David a play mat that he really seems to love so of course they can’t wait until he can come back and play some more.
Not sure when we’ll get back but it sure was a great trip … and Mike got to make a "David" sized Snowman!!!!
PS … there were LOTS of families flying at the same time and we proudly state that we were NOT that family with the screaming baby/kid. Although the one on the return flight woke David up from his nap. Poor bubby.
